The debacle between Donald Trump and the Democrats have finally ended, concluding the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. Now, the POTUS is set to deliver his State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol this Feb. 5.
And speaking of which, the Democrats have chosen Stacey Abrams to deliver the party’s response to Donald Trump’s SOTU. Abrams has a long history of serving the Democratic party and came close to being the first black woman governor in the country back in November, USA Today reported.
“At a moment when our nation needs to hear from leaders who can unite for a common purpose, I am honored to be delivering the Democratic State of the Union response," Abrams said. "I plan to deliver a vision for prosperity and equality, where everyone in our nation has a voice and where each of those voices is heard.” On the other side of the fence, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently claimed that Donald Trump winning the presidential race was the act of God, News reported.
Of course, the massive claim has been met with polarizing views by the masses, especially since the disastrous government shutdown just recently ended. But Donald Trump isn’t just seeing resistance from the public but also from his intelligent agencies as well.
Apparently, the POTUS is upset that Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats has contradicted his previous claims, CNN reported. Coats said that although North Korea has stopped provoking other nations through its WMD program, it’s unlikely that the country will cease productions of nuclear weapons altogether.
Coats and Donald Trump has repeatedly clashed in the past although their relationship has relatively recovered since then. Now, it appears that tension will rise between the two yet again and it’s unclear which direction this dialogue is headed.
This is especially true since Coats has also contradicted Donald Trump regarding his claim of finally defeating ISIS. The director said that the terrorist group is far from being put down for good and has now returned to their guerilla warfare. At the moment, the press and the public are waiting what sort of speech the POTUS will deliver during his State of the Union address.
